Harry Maguire Proud of Critics Silencing Goal in Man Utd's Win

Harry Maguire and Andre Onana, two players who have been under fire in recent months, stepped up to help Manchester United keep their Champions League hopes alive with a 1-0 victory over FC Copenhagen on Tuesday.

Maguire scored the only goal of the match in the 72nd minute, heading in a Christian Eriksen cross, while Onana saved a last-gasp penalty from Jordan Larsson to seal the win.

After the game, Maguire spoke of his pride at how he had bounced back from recent scrutiny to help his side secure three wins on the bounce.

"This is Man United, one of the most if not the most scrutinised clubs in the world," he said.

"So when you're not quite on your game, it gets picked up. It gets analysed.

"I'm really proud and pleased of the way I've acted over the last six to 12 months and I've been given an opportunity now and I just want to help the team and get the club back to where we want to be."

Onana, who has also faced criticism since joining United in the summer, said he hoped the win could be a turning point for the club.

"Of course," he said when asked if his story since joining United had been one of resilience. "But like I always said, we're Manchester United.

"A big club. Big players. So it's just a matter of time. Now we have to continue like this and when I see the way we are working I have no doubt we will make it."
